Miami Beach has an array of attractions catering to every type of traveler. It is no surprise that Miami visitors choose these three spots as their favorite go-to places. Whether you love shopping, lounging around the beach or spending time outdoors, Miami Beach offers its all!
Today’s Lincoln Road in Miami Beach is a well-recognized, trendy pedestrian mall between Washington Avenue and Alton Road where tourists rub elbows with locals and celebrities. In the 1920s, this area was still swamp land and mangroves. In the 1930s, retail shoppes dotted Lincoln Road and turned this area into the Rodeo Drive of the east. A drastic redesign of Lincoln Road took place in the 1950s. Morris Lapidus built the amphitheater, new fountains and concrete shelters in the modern design style that has now become classic. More recently, Sony Music Group relocated their Latin American headquarters to Lincoln Road in 1996.
South Point Park
South Pointe Park is located at 1 Washington Avenue and is visually stunning. What you need to know is that it combines three of Miami Beach’s best activities. You have the dock area for boating, the beach for water sports and lounging, and the urban area connects the park to the rest of the city. There are two walking paths – the Serpentine Walk and the Cut Walk. You can ride bikes, rollerblade and skate along the paths, but they’re not permitted on the grassy hilltops and recreational zones. A lesser known fact about the park is that you can unleash your pets here, but only at off-peak hours of the day.
